By Cole SullivanShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe college football regular season wrapped up on Saturday, setting the stage for conference championship week and ultimately the College Football Playoffs, which will be finalized next Sunday, Dec. 7.
Several big matchups headline the power conferences this weekend, including No. 18 Virginia vs. Duke in the ACC—a surprising storyline this season—a rematch between No. 11 BYU and No. 5 Texas Tech in the Big 12, an undefeated showdown in the Big Ten between No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana, and in the SEC, an all-time classic clash between No. 4 Georgia and No. 10 Alabama.
Ahead of all the action, ESPN’s "College GameDay," which concluded its regular season coverage in Ann Arbor for the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, announced it will travel to Atlanta for the Georgia-Alabama showdown, set to kickoff at 4 p.m. EST.
"SEE YOU IN ATLANTA FOR THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP," they posted.

Football fans had mixed reactions to the announcement, with many feeling that "College GameDay" should have prioritized the No. 1 vs. No. 2 Big Ten title game instead.
"This a great choice since the #1 and #2 teams aren’t playing each other in the Big Ten Championship. Oh wait," a fan said.
Someone else added, "1v2 matchup but ESPN is going to the SEC game. Shocker."
Another person wrote, "You guys pass up the #1 vs #2 and two leading Heisman contenders??? This is a joke, right?"
"Nobody cares. Ohio State vs Indiana is literally 1 vs 2 lol. Not even hiding the SEC bias anymore," one more fan commented.
...While skipping the Big Ten title game was controversial, they did close out their regular season covering a Big Ten showdown, which likely factored into the decision despite its unpopularity.
Just weeks ago, they were in Lubbock for BYU vs. Texas Tech, with Patrick Mahomes as the guest picker, which also helps explain why they opted for the SEC matchup this time around.
