Previous Page Next PageEveryone has a breaking point, and Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) has finally had enough of his abusive partner Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) controlling behaviour. But Theo won’t let Todd go without a fight…
Since arriving on the Cobbles, Theo’s lost his wife and kids thanks to his cheating and refusal to accept his own sexuality. Jumping straight into a relationship with Todd, Weatherfield’s most angry scaffolder has been making his boyfriend a target for his self-hatred and internalised homophobia. His weapon of choice? Marathon training.
Like many abusers, Theo hides his controlling behaviour with love bombing and good intentions, such as concern for his partner’s health. In reality, pushing a strict exercise regime is Theo’s twisted way of undermining Todd’s confidence and testing his loyalty.
Every time Todd steps out of line, Theo’s anger boils over. Coronation Street fans witnessed this with devastating consequences earlier in November when a jealous Theo exploded and smashed Todd’s face into a mirror.

Ever since, Corrie fans have been leaping up and down on their sofas screaming for Todd to leave this toxic relationship. And this week, it seems that time has finally come…
Despite trying to hide his injuries by staying into the flat, Todd was forced to shut down suspicion when a concerned Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Christina (Amy Robbins) found Todd in a bad state.
Suspicion continues to fester when Theo shows Todd the new exercise bike that he bought him, only for a passing Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and Summer (Harriet Bibby) to notice the cuts on Todd’s face. Theo quickly covers that he injured himself during a boozy night out in London. But Billy smells a rat…
