In gameweek 14 of the 2025/26 Premier League season, 12th-placed Newcastle face 13th-placed Tottenham in an intriguing clash on Tyneside between two out-of-sorts sides separated only by goal difference.

Tottenham, meanwhile, suffered another damaging setback with a 2–1 home loss to Fulham, undone by two goals inside the opening six minutes. A late Mohammed Kudus volley reduced the deficit, but boos rained down on Guglielmo Vicario and the team as Spurs slumped to a third consecutive defeat in all competitions.
Thomas Frank's side have now lost 10 Premier League home matches in 2025, equalling unwanted records from 1994 and 2003. Their away form has been more respectable, 13 points from a possible 18, but history is firmly against them on Tyneside. Spurs have lost six of their last seven meetings with Newcastle, including the most recent four, and have not avoided defeat at St James’ Park since October 2021.
