Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has now made two NFL starts for the Cleveland Browns after being selected in the fifth round.

He’s 1–1 so far, but has shown enough promise to earn another start this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans — and reports suggest he may be in line to start the final five games of the season for Cleveland.

According to Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot, the organization “sees something” in Sanders, and the final stretch of the season could determine how they view his long-term future with the team.

“I think it’s going to be Shedeur the rest of the way because I think they do see something in him, and they want to know if they need to draft a quarterback in April,” Cabot said.

With Sanders leading the way, the Browns earned an impressive win over the Las Vegas Raiders two weeks ago, in which he completed 11-of-20 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Last week, in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Sanders went 16-of-25 for 149 yards and one touchdown.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke about Sanders’ growth following the team’s latest defeat.

“There are things that he wants back that we’re coaching up right now that he can improve upon,” Stefanski said. “But bottom line, we have to continue to put our players in a position to succeed. For a young quarterback, you only get better with more reps in these games — as you see more coverages, as you see more defenses, and as you prepare against different schemes. So we’re just looking forward to that constant improvement with Shedeur and all of our young players.

"He wants to continue to get better and better, and that’s the right attitude to have. That’s why we’ll continue to work with him."
