Previous Page Next PageWhen it comes to keeping clean, most of us hop in the shower or enjoy a nice bath after a long day.
The former is convenient and the latter can be relaxing after a stressful time at work.
But a new way to wash yourself has just dropped for the super-rich.
Yamada Holdings, a home electronics retailer in Japan, is planning to sell a human washing machine for the eye-watering cost of nearly £300,000.
It attracted a lot of attention at the Osaka Expo, an exhibition event where ‘the world’s knowledge such as cutting-edge technology will be brought together, used to create new ideas, and shared, all to help resolve global issues facing humankind’, according to its website.

Yamada Holdings said it will sell the product at its flagship store in Tokyo – where a demonstration unit of the Mirai Human Washing Machine will be displayed from Christmas Day.
The company has not decided when it will begin selling the machine – but said it expects to retail it for ¥60million (£291,300).
After climbing in the 2.3-metre-long machine, the door shuts and the tub automatically fills with warm water.
Users are then washed with what the Japanese company Science described as microscopic bubbles.
These remove dirt without the need for movement.
Yasuaki Aoyama, chairman of Science, said: ‘We want people who could not visit the expo to experience this technology.’

In 15 minutes, users will be washed and dried by the machine,

It is reportedly an update of a product that was displayed for the first time in 1970 – when Osaka last hosted the exhibition.
Sachiko Maekura, a spokeswoman for Science, said: ‘Our [company] president was inspired by that as a 10-year-old boy at the time.’
She added that the machine ‘not only washes your body but also your soul’ and monitors your heartbeat.
