This Thursday (November 27), Stranger Things will kick off its long-awaited final season, launching with volume one, which will consist of four episodes. Ahead of its premiere, Netflix has now shared a final trailer to ready fans for the episodes to come.

The first of the three parts of Stranger Things season five will arrive on Netflix on Thursday November 27 at 1am GMT. Volume two (three episodes) will drop at 1am on Boxing Day (Friday December 26), and the finale will air at 1am on New Year’s Day in the UK. The latter will also be shown in over 350 cinemas in the US and UK.
The official synopsis for season five reads: “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
RecommendedEarlier this month, fans were given a first teaser of the new season when five minutes of the first episode was shared on social media. That footage what really happened to Will Byers when he vanished into the Upside Down all teh way back in season one.
Since then, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour were pictured together on the red carpet following rumours that Brown had filed a claim of “harassment and bullying” against Harbour, and show creators confirmed that Joseph Quinn will not be returning as Eddie Munson for the upcoming season.
Gaten Matarazzo also spoke to NME about the show coming to an end, and shared that while the cast had “been saying goodbye for longer than we’ve actually been doing the show”, it still hit him “like a truck” when filming wrapped.
While the original series of Stranger Things will come to an end with season five, an animated spin-off of the series is set to arrive on Netflix next year, and will see the students of Hawkins, Indiana, head on a new set of adventures. The first trailer for the show was shared earlier this month, and it was confirmed that it will feature an entirely new cast.
