Poor Moira Dingle has no idea (Picture: ITV)
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) will stop at nothing to ensure she doesn’t face consequences for her actions in Emmerdale, and if that means framing a completely innocent person for the death of a young woman, so be it.
On Friday, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) was absolutely devastated as he watched friend and fellow slave Anya die as a result of Celia and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) failing to treat her infection. Anya had arrived in the village via the back of one of Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) trucks, and had been working on Celia’s farm alongside Bear and a number of other vulnerable adults.
Bear, who has been manipulated by Ray and Celia, assumed in today’s episode that Ray would set about organising a funeral for Anya. He had absolutely no intention of doing this, and instead threw her body in the feed shed until he reached a decision on what to do.
Meanwhile, Celia was visiting Butlers to discuss business with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb). She was busy rushing around the kitchen as per usual, and was also sorting some items out for a charity donation.

After a chat, Celia left and then discovered from Ray that he had told the workers that they would definitely organise a funeral for Anya. Celia was incredibly annoyed, and Ray failed to mention that he had only promised this because he got scared when Bear pinned him against the wall in anger.
A few moments later though, an idea formed in Celia’s mind. She told Ray that they could sort a funeral, and that he needed to bring Bear and Anya’s body to a specific location later that evening.
Ray took Bear and Anya’s body and met Celia on a piece of farmland that belongs to Butlers. The two men then dug a grave and placed Anya’s body inside of it, unaware at the time that the blanket concealing the woman’s body actually belongs to Moira.

Bear delivered a moving speech and became tearful as he reflected on the short life Anya lived. As he sang, Celia was completely devoid of emotion, desperate for the whole thing to be over.
Just before the instalment ended, Ray wondered if his mum had actually grown a heart amid her decision to hold a funeral.

Celia made it perfectly clear that she did not have a tender moment – burying the body and allowing Bear to say goodbye to Anya was simply an insurance plan.

She explained that because Anya’s body has been buried in a blanket belonging to Moira, on Butlers farmland, the police will look at her if Anya is ever discovered.
It was a smart move from Celia, and a strong way of preventing her and Ray from ever getting caught.
