The early Black Friday sales are serving up some seriously strong floorcare deals from the likes of Shark and Dyson. I've spotted the lowest-ever prices on nimble cordless vacuums, grime-busting steam cleaners, and powerful corded upright vacuums – basically anything you might need to get your floors sparkling clean.

As TechRadar's Homes Editor for floorcare, I've tested many of these products personally, and for those I haven't, I've been through the specs and features and made sure it's worthy of recommendation. When putting together this roundup, I also looked at the price history to check it's actually a good deal. The V9 Motorbar has the biggest discount I've spotted in the early sales, with 55% off the list price. A new addition to the Dyson lineup, the V9 is an ultra-lightweight vacuum with solid suction specs and a helpful screen to provide info. It's aimed at budget-conscious buyers and is even more affordable right now. This discount is also available at Dyson and Best Buy.

With $200 off, this Shark vacuum is back down to its lowest-ever price. I recently did a group test of the best cordless vacuums around, and the PowerDetect Cordless came out top in all my cleaning trials – it's great on everything from thick carpet to pet hair. This version has an auto-empty dock to take the effort and mess out of emptying.

Dyson has knocked nearly 40% off the list price here. The V11 sits around the middle of Dyson's vacuum range in terms of specs, and it's an extremely strong value for money with this deal. Expect strong suction and long runtimes, plus a useful LCD screen to provide info. This bundle comes with a whole array of detail tools, too. This deal is also available direct from Dyson.

Head to Amazon for $250 off this Shark upright. It's not quite the cheapest price I've seen on this model, but better deals are very rare. In TechRadar's Shark Stratos Upright vacuum review, my tester was wowed by its cleaning powers, and while it's not super fancy, the design is very functional and can even be reconfigured for getting into tight nooks and crannies. This deal is also available at Best Buy.

The V12 Detect Slim has a major price cut ahead of Black Friday sales, with $330 off list price. This cordless stick vacuum boasts hi-tech features like automatic suction adjustment and a floorhead that's kitted out with a dirt-illuminating laser, but still comes in at a relatively affordable price – and one that's far more affordable right now. In TechRadar's V12 Detect Slim review, my teammate flagged the dust cup, which makes it a better choice for small homes. This deal is also available at Walmart.

There's a total of $70 off this vacuum in Amazon's early Black Friday sales – that's an excellent price on this model. Although we haven't tested this specific vacuum, it boasts many of the same features that we like so much in other Shark uprights, including a bin section that can be removed and held in the hand for more flexibility.

This Shark upright is nearly half price ahead of Black Friday. If you're serious about cleaning, a corded upright is a better choice than a cordless stick vacuum. If you have lots of carpet or shedding pets, it's well worth checking out.

This is Dyson's V15 vacuum (which is packed with tech and excellent at cleaning) with a mopping floorhead bundled in. In our Dyson V15s Detect Submarine review, my teammate praised the versatility and commented that the mop head is great for small cleanups.

The Gen5outsize has had a $300 price cut for Black Friday, taking it to very nearly the cheapest price I've seen. It's the same as the Gen5detect but scaled up, for larger homes, with a larger dust cup and wider floorhead. You'll still get hi-tech features, including real-time dust reports and automatic suction adjustment.

This is an extremely good price for the Stratos Cordless, and very nearly the cheapest it has ever been. This is an older Shark vacuum, and while it might not have advanced features like dirt detection, it packs a real punch when it comes to suction power. It's worth considering if you're looking for a cordless vacuum for pet hair or lots of carpet.

Although I haven't used this specific vacuum myself, it looks like a very solid choice – it uses Shark's effective DirtDetect technology for automatic suction adjustment, has a very decent maximum runtime of 50 minutes, and you can release the wand to bend forward for easy vacuuming under furniture.

The best price drop is on the V15 with 8 attachments – toggle through to see it. This vacuum is a little pricier than it was a few days ago, so if you're not in a hurry, then it's worth sitting tight and seeing if it falls back to its lowest price of £449.95. The V15 is probably the model I'd recommend to most people, because it balances cool, hi-tech features with a user-friendly design and, of course, excellent cleaning.
