It's officially Black Friday, so now's the time to make some essential purchases – and for streaming, that includes a Prime Video subscription.

Maybe you've signed up for another Amazon deal or want to get the most out of Amazon Prime's delivery perks, but getting good streaming content on top of that is priceless, if you ask me.

Not only does Prime Video have one of the best movie back catalogs out of all the mainstream platforms, but its TV shows are among the most binge-worthy.

It's a tough call advising where to start first, but for me, there are three shows that absolutely nobody can go wrong with. If my judgement alone doesn't persuade you, they've all scored over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics (and you can't mess with that).

Fleabag

Fleabag Season 2 - Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube Fleabag Season 2 - Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube Watch On

RT score: 100%Release date: 2016-2019Rating: TV-MACast: Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Sian Clifford, Olivia Colman, Bill Paterson

There's good reason why the scripts for Fleabag were released as a physical bible after the show came to a close (and that isn't just a reference to Andrew Scott's hot priest). Phoebe Waller-Bridge's one-woman show turned hit TV series is a masterclass in emotional range, comedy and how to write impeccably well.

It's almost difficult to believe that there were so few Fleabag episodes made, but this is almost a curse of the best TV shows of all time (Fawlty Towers is another great example, for my UK readers). Its impact outperforms its quantity, creating something that becomes so culturally timeless that it can be referenced in so many situations and made complete sense.

This is exactly what Waller-Bridge has done, and it's an oddly comforting rewatch given how much personal anguish Fleabag is in. Olivia Colman plays the horrific stepmother to perfection, and Sian Clifford's Claire is the sister I never knew I wanted (I must quote the "Claire, it's French" hairdo scene at least once a week).

Fallout

Fallout Season Two Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube Fallout Season Two Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube Watch On

RT score: 93%Release date: 2024-presentRating: TV-MACast: Ella Purnell, Walter Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moises Arias

Not only is Fallout season 2 due to hit Prime Video on December 17, but it's truly one of the best sci-fi/fantasy shows I've seen in years... and that's coming from somebody who usually hates them. Fans of the original Fallout video game series won't be disappointed either, thanks to Amazon enhancing the original details we know and love.

In season 2, we're set to be introduced to New Vegas for the first time, as Lucy (Purnell) and Ghoul (Goggins) try to find Lucy's father Hank (MacLachlan). Hopes are sky high for how this is going to be adapted, but I think that we should rest assured that New Vegas will be as epic as we want it to be.

Not only am I excited for the new action, but I love what this kind of world expansion means for the future of the show. As more versions of the Fallout games are released, the TV show becomes virtually limitless. There's complete creative freedom here, and TV doesn't take enough risks like this as it is.

The Devil's Hour

The Devil's Hour - Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube The Devil's Hour - Official Trailer | Prime Video - YouTube Watch On

RT score: 95%Release date: 2022-presentRating: TV-MACast: Peter Capaldi, Jessica Raine, Nikesh Patel, Alex Ferns

If you're looking to get your teeth into a thriller with a little more bite to it, look no further. The Devil's Hour follows Lucy Chambers (Raine), who is inexplicably woken up at 3:33am every night. Known as "the devil's hour," this patterns blurs into a nightmare with her work and personal lives, thanks to her avoidant son and police work investigating a serial killer (Capaldi).

If you've ever seen an episode of The Thick of It, you'll know that Capaldi was born to play bad. Frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't been cast as a renowned murderer before now. His performance is what carries The Devil's Hour and turns it into something truly terrifying.

Honestly, there's a good chance that after you start binging it, you'll be waking up at 3:33am too. It's less supernatural and more psychological, but isn't that the scariest unknown of them all?
