The New York Yankees are heading into a very important offseason this winter. They had a big offseason last winter after losing Juan Soto. But they have a few key free agents this offseason, and they need to make some big moves.

Cody Bellinger is one of the top free agents in the league, and he's projected to sign a massive $168 million deal, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic. At that price, the Yankees could afford to bring him in to support the roster for years to come.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently projected the Yankees would be the team that wins the Bellinger sweepstakes in free agency this winter.

"A reunion with Cody Bellinger or a serious run at signing Kyle Tucker will be the top priority on the offensive side of things, otherwise they could be forced to rely on Jasson Domínguez, Spencer Jones or a less impactful outside addition in the outfield," Reuter wrote.

Bellinger is the perfect fit in the Yankees outfield. While Kyle Tucker could be a better hitter long term, Bellinger is the perfect fit as a slugger in the lineup and a star in the outfield.

Bellinger is also half the price of Tucker, which makes the fit even better for the Yankees. Instead of sending $400 million to Tucker, they could send $168 million to Bellinger and use the extra money to bolster the bullpen.
