By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Las Vegas Raiders made a huge move after their Week 12 loss, as the team chose to move on from offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Kelly was made the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the league, and is now out of a job.

The dismissal of Kelly was not enough for the organization and head coach Pete Carroll, as the Raiders have fired a second coach. These sweeping changes are not at all shocking, considering the team has dropped to a 2-9 record.
There was a ton of hope that Carroll coming on board and bringing Kelly along with quarterback Geno Smith would lead to some huge gains, but that has not been the case. The Raiders have not clicked in the right manner, and the offense has been a huge problem.
With Kelly out, the Raiders have also fired his "right-hand man," offensive assistant Bob Bicknell.

Per Tom Pelissero, the Raiders fired Bicknell shortly after they fired Kelly. Though the 2025 season is coming to a close, the organization has wasted no time overhauling its coaching staff.

It is believed that Carroll will get a second chance with the Raiders, despite a very rough first season. That said, he will now get to hire a new offensive coordinator, along with more when the 2026 offseason rolls around.
For now, the Raiders will move forward without Kelly and Bicknell. The Raiders face a tough gauntlet in the next few opponents, as they will take on the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Philadelphia Eagles next.
With Kelly and Bicknell out, maybe the offense can start to come alive a bit. However, it will be tough to do so against three of the toughest opponents in the NFL.
