Black Friday season is well underway, and even the most luxurious devices are candidates for discounts. Case in point: I’ve spotted the iPad Pro 11-inch (M5) for $899 (was $999) at Amazon and the iPad Pro 13-inch (M5) for $1,195.24 (was $1,299), also at Amazon.

Though neither of these discounts is the best Black Friday deal we’ve seen in numerical terms alone, it’s worth remembering that Apple products are typically less likely to get big discounts over the sales season. And while the iPad Pro is very expensive, no matter which screen size you go for, it still offers a lot of value thanks to its unparalleled performance and peerless access to pro-grade software.

The 13-inch iPad Pro is the most powerful tablet Apple makes, and possibly the most powerful tablet money can buy. With a 13-inch Tandem OLED display, the desktop-class M5 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, this is a device that's ready for anything, from everyday scrolling to professional video and audio editing.

So, what makes the iPad Pro so… Pro? To start with, both the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models come with one of the most advanced displays on any tablet, thanks to Apple’s Tandem OLED tech, which effectively layers two displays on top of each other to ensure detail, brightness, and color stay consistent across the whole panel. Both are ProMotion displays too, which is Apple’s branding for 1-120Hz variable refresh rate tech, meaning on-screen animations look super smooth.

Under that display, and within the ultra-slim 5.3mm (11-inch) or 5.1mm (13-inch) chassis, lies the powerful M5 chipset – that’s the same chipset as you’ll find in the latest MacBook Pro. Paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the iPad Pro’s M5 chipset is a beast that’s ready to take on almost anything, from everyday scrolling to intensive video editing. The iPad Pro is also notable for supporting perhaps the best tablet accessories on the market. The recently revamped Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is a real winner – I’ve used it myself, and it’s the closest any tablet keyboard comes to feeling like typing on a laptop. The Apple Pencil Pro is another winner for writers and artists, thanks to its pressure sensitivity, squeeze and roll gestures, and wireless charging.

Put simply, you won’t find another tablet more powerful than the iPad Pro. The best Android tablets have great hardware, but they all lack the slickness of iPadOS and the App Store’s excellent selection of apps, such as ProCreate and full mobile versions of Photoshop and Lightroom. It’s also an elite-level mobile gaming device thanks to its desktop-class specs.

We might see better prices as Black Friday continues, but these deals are typically available while stocks last, so buying now could turn out to be a smart move.
