The hosts begin the day in 10th place after a run of form that has seen them move just five points behind second with a game in hand, and recent wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton showed positive signs to suggest that United can challenge for Europe this term.
While the draws to Nottingham Forest and Tottenham reminded fans of some of the attacking and defensive struggles that have plagued Amorim’s side, United have benefitted from the mixed form of their rivals, and they welcome David Moyes’ side with the chance to move into the top four.
Everton’s own mixed form sees them in the bottom half of the table after four wins, four losses and three draws, but with players such as Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish, the Toffees are more than capable of upsetting United this evening.

There are new concerns over Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha’s fitness after he missed a Christmas lights switch-on event in Altrincham due to what organisers described as "an accident in training" on Saturday.
The 26-year-old has impressed since joining from Wolves in the summer and looked set to retain his starting role in the Red Devils' return to Premier League action against Everton on Monday.
But a surprise source has sparked concern over Cunha's availability after the Brazil international pulled out of Altrincham's 'Neon Noel' Christmas lights switch-on event on Saturday.

For the visitors, Jarrad Branthwaite is the main long-term absentee, with the England international likely out until next year after requiring surgery on a thigh injury. Nathan Patterson and Merlin Rohl will be out until next month after respective procedures related to groin and hernia issues.
