Previous Page Next PageA man waited 18 days after finding a dead body to report it, and then decided to tell a morning radio show rather than the police.
He called into a radio station to boast of finding the corpse, saying the discovery was ‘amazing’ rather than disturbing.
The man, who called himself Joseph but refused to give his real name, said he was ‘exploring nature and look what I came upon.’
When hosts pressed him on what he had found, he replied that it was a dead body: ‘It was amazing. It was, ah, this may sound sick, but I’ve always wanted to come upon something like that, and luckily it was months old, so that was nice.’
When horrified hosts pressed him about whether he had informed police, he said he had dreamed about doing so the night before, but had not yet done so in reality.

It may sound like the ramblings of a fantasist, but police in Frederick County, Maryland, confirmed on Friday that they really did find a body after investigating the details given to the Elliot in the Morning radio show on DC101.
The man had told hosts he saw the body ‘along the highway, it’s a tent city from a year ago that was shut down’.
He said he assumed ‘this guy died in his sleep, whether it was an overdose or he froze to death.’
As the body seemed to have been there some time, he said he didn’t see it as urgent to notify police immediately.

Radio host Elliot Segal repeatedly pressed him to ‘dude, call the cops’, asking why that wasn’t the first thing he did.
Asking if the body was still there, the caller said: ‘As of 18 days ago, yes.’
