Lucas Hay’s (Oscar Curtis) attempts to get ex Dillon Ray’s (Nathaniel Dass) attention will reach new heights in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes.

The young chef, as viewers know, had his heart broken earlier this month when longtime love Dillon told him that he no longer loved him, ending their relationship.

What he didn’t know, however, is that Dillon is secretly in love with his dad Ste (Kieron Richardson), with the two having slept together behind Lucas’ back last week.

Ste isn’t in a good place, with Dillon having discovered that Lucas has been abusing him for months. When the police were involved, Ste claimed that he had been hitting his son – not the other way around.

With such an admission having been made, social services were involved, with baby James – his grandson, whose dad is none other than Dillon – no longer allowed to stay at his flat.

Baby James was subsequently taken to the Maaliks by Dillon, who later finds his son’s grandad and new love interest Ste in a dark place.

And spoilers for the following week confirm that Ste and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) drown their sorrows together.

Mercedes doesn’t want to stop the party but Ste is thoughtful after a message from social services, confirming a meeting for the following day.

Dillon and Lucas, meanwhile, are summoned to The Dog after receiving a message from Frankie.

Hollyoaks spoilers! Also in the village next week...

Gemma Johnston (Tisha Merry) watches on smug as Ste and Mercedes stumble out of Casa. Later, she settles into the Maaliks. Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi), meanwhile, reminds Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) to keep his work stress out of the home.

Donny is worried about Dodger Savage’s (Danny Mac) intentions when he witnesses him heading into the superintendent’s office. Later, Dodger confronts Donny on the man he’s become, which causes some guilt to rise.

Theresa McQueen (Jorge Porter), meanwhile, is back in the village – and Goldie (Chelsea Healey) is shocked when she stumbles upon her.

Theresa reveals that she was conned out of her diamonds and is now laying low from Warren (Jamie Lomas). Wanting to thank him, Theresa sets off to see Dodger.

Riddled with guilt, Mercedes plans to visit Tony Hutchinson (Nick Picard) but Diane (Alex Fletcher) spots her and encourages her to freshen up.

Tony, meanwhile, is concerned when he hears he can be discharged soon with a care plan in place and Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) tries to pull the family back together.

Lucas scrolls through Dillon’s messages. As fans will recall, he downloaded a cloning app a number of weeks ago and thus has access to his ex’s texts.

Having an idea, Lucas suggests that Frankie called them both there to stage an intervention and reunite them.

Lucas tries to connect with Dillon, who continues to push him away, and their attention is soon elsewhere when they encounter Ste, who has relapsed.

With a social services meeting imminent, Dillon offers to help John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in getting Ste sober and ready in time.

Ste, however, remains in self-sabotage mode, believing that he doesn’t deserve baby James back.

Lucas, meanwhile, tells Frankie that he won’t give up on Dillon as he is his person but the chef subsequently sees a text from Ste to Dillon and jumps to conclusions.

Has he worked out the truth about Dillon and Ste’s betrayal?
