A ‘wickedly fun’ and ‘bonkers’ erotic thriller is finally available to stream in the UK.

Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan, Bone Lake follows Diego (Marco Pigossi) and Sage (Maddie Hasson), who take a romantic vacation to a secluded lakeside estate.

But they soon find that they have been double-booked with fellow couple Cin (Andra Nechita) and Will (Alex Roe). They decide to both stay at the huge rental property, but their dream getaway soon spirals into a nightmarish fight for survival.

The film had its premiere at Fantastic Fest last year, later arriving on our shores as part of this year’s FrightFest lineup at Leicester Square’s Odeon Luxe.

Now following its festival run, Bone Lake landed on Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten TV, and the Sky Store today, available to rent and buy.

It has proved a hit among audiences and critics alike, winning the bronze Audience Award at the 2024 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

It boasts a high 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics’ consensus reading: ‘Unwavering in its psychological trappings, Bone Lake is a supercharged game of survival that yields a thrilling rabbit-hole of intrigue and fun.’

In their review, RogerEbert.com said: ‘It’s a fun, messed-up horror thriller playing with both familiar tropes and modern-day anxieties of love, sex, and finding out that someone has booked the same rental home for the weekend.’

Variety wrote: ‘While not perfect, the psychological thriller is cleverly conceived and confidently executed enough to make for a fun ride, one that eventually takes the full plunge into bloody black comedy terrain.’

The San Jose Mercury added: ‘Even when Bone Lake reveals its deadly hand and then goes bonkers, it does so with a tongue in cheek and a razor-sharp wit. It also offers its four actors a chance to shine.’

Austin Chronicle called Bone Lake ‘wickedly funny’, while Mashable branded it ‘trashy horror you’re expecting, but better.’
