I'm lucky enough to review a lot of Lego Star Wars sets as part of my job, and Black Friday just slashed the cost of a favorite to bargain levels.
Lego Boarding the Tantive IV is one of those rare kits that'll suit both kids and adults alike (more on why in a moment), making it an excellent self-present for fans or one of the better Lego Star Wars gifts on offer right now. That's why a Black Friday discount that brings it down to $38.49 at Amazon instead of the usual $55 is so eye-catching.

Lego Boarding the Tantive IV | $54.99 $38.49 at AmazonSave $16 - This kit normally costs anywhere between $44 and $47, so 30% off in honor of this year's Black Friday sale is much better than the batting average. Sure, it's not a record low price... but it's not far off.Buy it if:✅ You want a characterful display piece✅ You want a toy for kids✅ You love that iconic opening sceneDon't buy it if:❌ You'd rather get one of the shipsPrice check:💲 Walmart | $38.49UK price: £49.99 £33.99 at Amazon
View DealIn case you were wondering, this kit recreates that memorable opening scene from Star Wars: A New Hope. (Y'know, the one where Darth Vader and a bunch of Stormtroopers break onto Princess Leia's ship and start shooting the place up.) That means it includes the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, plenty of Stormtrooper minifigures, Rebel minifigures, and a diorama of the corridor with plenty of hidden tricks. I gave it a high score in my Lego Boarding the Tantive IV (75387) review, and it's amongst the best Lego sets for its balance of price, versatility, and quality.
In terms of versatility, it's the kind of set that looks great on display with all the minifigs staged as they appeared in the film. That's how I have mine at home; it sits on a shelf next to my desk. However, all those minifigs and their corridor battleground make it a great kit for kids who want something for their toybox. In addition, it has fun secrets like hinges that knock off minfigures when they're "blasted," along with a sliding door that can be 'detonated.' In other words, it's one of the best Star Wars gifts no matter the age of the person you're shopping for.

(Image credit: Benjamin Abbott)Would you prefer the Tantive IV itself? Well, Lego makes one of those too - and it's pretty great, as noted in our Lego Tantive IV (75376) review. As luck would have it, that model is also heavily discounted in honor of this year's Black Friday Lego deals. Indeed, you can save 50% on it right now. It's $40 at Amazon rather than $79.99, or £44.99 at Amazon UK instead of the usual £70.
