If you've asked Santa nicely for a Nintendo Switch 2 this year, it's likely that you're using the current Black Friday deals wisely by gathering all the accessories and bits and bobs you need for your new setup, and a new case should be on your shopping list.
A good Switch 2 case can provide a means of carrying your new Ninty handheld around with you, while keeping it and some extra games and accessories nice and snug and out of harm's way, and the Belkin Carrying Case can do that all for just $23.99 at Amazon today. Thanks to this week's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals, it's actually down to its lowest ever price so far, and while it may not look very flashy, it's been keeping my beloved Switch 2 safe and protected for months now, and will for months to come.

Belkin Carrying Case for Nintendo Switch 2 | $29.99 $23.99 at AmazonSave $6 – The Belkin Carrying Case is my go-to case when I want to take my Switch 2 on the go, while still having some space for extra games and smaller accessories. Right now, it's down to just $23.99, its lowest price ever so far, but even at its full $29.99 price, I'd recommend this well-built and storage-full Switch 2 accessory.

View DealWhy the Belkin Carrying Case should be your first Nintendo Switch 2 case
Like I briefly mentioned earlier, a Switch 2 case should be one of the highest shopping priorities when it comes to forming your new Ninty gaming setup, so long as you're a handheld mode fan. The best Switch 2 case I've tested so far isn't this model but actually the Belkin Charging Case however, it's pricey $69.99 MSRP makes it harder to recommend, especially when it hasn't been included in this year's Black Friday deals. Fortunately, the Belkin Carrying Case takes a lot after its more expensive brethren.
The cases are near identical when it comes to their interior storage, which includes a middle section that can store up to 12 Switch or Switch 2 games, and a small fabric mesh pocket for accessories. As this is a compact case, I recommend only storing smaller accessories like a spare set of Switch 2 Joy-Con rails or a charging case, so as not to put unnecessary extra pressure on your new handheld's 7.9-inch display when the case is fully zipped up though.
That's not all I love about this accessory, and why I recommend it as everyone's first Switch 2 case. Inside the fabric mesh pocket, there's a hidden Apple AirTag pocket, which you can use to keep track of your pricey Switch 2. I haven't used mine quite yet, but you can bet the next time I have to get on a plane for work, I'll be investing in a set of tags so I can feel reassured my Switch and my multiple-hour Pokemon Legends Z-A save file are out of the wrong hands.
If you'd prefer a case that's covered in cute Super Mario character art, you do have options like the Turtle Beach PlayTrek Travel Case, which shares a similar amount of storage, bar the absence of the hidden AirTag pocket. However, it remains at its $29.99 at Amazon with no discount to be seen. It's also a lot bulkier, which is yet another reason why the Belkin Carrying Case is always my go-to recommendation for new Switch 2 owners.

I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
