Longtime play-by-play announcer Joe Buck is one of the best – and busiest – in the business. Before he took over as the play-by-play man at ESPN, he held double duty for Fox, announcing for both Major League Baseball and the National Football League.

At the Worldwide Leader, he doesn't have the same luxury, but he'll be testing the waters in a new venture next week. Instead of just doing the "Monday Night Football" broadcast in a matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Giants, Buck will also be co-hosting "Good Morning America."

“Joe, together with Troy, Lisa, Laura, and our entire team, has elevated our Monday Night Football presentation,” Burke Magnus, ESPN President of Content said in a statement. “Joe’s impact on The Walt Disney Company goes well beyond the broadcast booth—he has been a tremendous ambassador for ESPN, and we continue to find new ways to leverage his talent across the company.”

Buck will begin the morning in New York City for the show, which he'll co-host alongside George Stephanopoulos and others before heading off to Foxboro for the game on Monday night.

“The GMA team welcoming me back is easily the biggest surprise of the day. Experiencing that routine just a few times a year reminds me why sports will always be my main job. I appreciate GMA letting me be a small part of the show again—and a salute to our Monday Night Football team who are the real stars of our production holding down the fort in Foxboro," Buck said in a statement.

ESPN pointed out that Buck pulled double duty in 2012 when he called the New York Giants–San Francisco 49ers game before covering NLCS Game 1 featuring the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants for Fox Sports.
