The Toronto Blue Jays recently shocked the baseball world when they reportedly agreed on a massive seven-year, $210 million deal to bring Dylan Cease to Toronto, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

While this is a huge move in a vacuum, it's going to impact free agency in a few different ways.

It's going to impact the pitching market, but it's also going to impact the Blue Jays and their potential pursuit of a new deal with superstar Bo Bichette.

Bichette is a free agent, and the Blue Jays were seen as the heavy favorites to sign him to a new deal. But after giving Cease over $200 million, this could quickly change. Cease's deal reportedly includes deferred money, which should help the Blue Jays sign other stars right now.

Still, teams like the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves could gain some steam in their pursuit of Bichette. Neither of those two teams has spent $200 million this winter, while the Blue Jays have. This should give the edge to Atlanta or New York instead of Toronto.

It's too early to count the Blue Jays out of the Bichette sweepstakes, but he might not be their top priority. Blue Jays fans should be preparing for life without Bichette because it seems like a real possibility.
