As the Golden State Warriors’ Wednesday night matchup against the Houston Rockets reached the final moments, Steph Curry was seen limping and went back to the locker room.
At that point, the Warriors were concerned for the health of their superstar guard.
Following the game, the team confirmed that Curry has been diagnosed with a quad contusion. He will undergo an MRI to land more details about his diagnosis and recovery plans going forward.
...This season, Curry has dealt with numerous setbacks. His most notable setback was non-injury related. Dealing with an illness in early November, Curry ended up missing three games of action.
When the star guard returned to the court on November 11, Curry was on a minutes restriction, playing in fewer than 20 minutes. He resumed his normal shift in the following game, checking in for 33 minutes against the San Antonio Spurs.
After appearing in five-straight games after the small stretch of absences, Curry missed the Warriors’ November 19 matchup against the Miami Heat. It was the second night of a back-to-back, and Curry was dealing with a minor ankle issue.
Since then, he’s appeared in all three games for the Warriors, including Wednesday’s outing at home against the Houston Rockets.
Before he left the court, Curry checked in for 33 minutes. He struggled with his shot, going 4-13 from the field, and making just two of his nine shots from beyond the arc. Curry scored 14 points, produced seven rebounds, and five assists. He turned the ball over six times.

The Warriors lost to the Rockets 104-100. With that loss, the Warriors fall to 10-10 on the year, while the Rockets advance to 12-4.
Moving forward, Curry will be a name to watch for Golden State, as he seems to have another setback in play.
The 37-year-old sharpshooter has appeared in 15 games so far this season. He is averaging 28.8 points, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three. He is also posting averages of 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists, while turning the ball over 2.9 times per game.
The Warriors will get the next two days off before returning to the court for a Saturday night matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.
