Linda is back, but not to the same Walford she left (Picture: BBC)
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is officially on her way back to Walford, and if anyone thought her long holiday meant a calm homecoming, they can think again.
EastEnders has confirmed her return date for the week commencing 15th of December, and the BBC’s new spoilers reveal that Linda is walking straight into chaos, conflict and the threat of a life-changing showdown with Max Branning (Jake Wood).
After months away travelling with Johnny, Ollie and toddler Annie, Linda has been sunning herself while the rest of the Square wrestles with secrets, scandals and a deeply fractured Slater family. But the peace she’s enjoyed abroad will be a distant memory within minutes of stepping back onto the Square.
Because Walford has changed, and Linda is about to find out just how much.
Linda’s absence has been felt everywhere. Once the beating heart of The Queen Vic, she has survived almost every nightmare Walford could throw at her: alcoholism, Mick’s disappearance, Dean’s attack, the Max affair, Annie’s secret paternity, and the painful sale of the pub that defined her.
Her decision to leave in July came after years of emotional strain. The Vic, now run by Kat and Alfie, held too many memories. Too much pain. Too much Mick.
Travelling gave Linda the break she desperately needed, but it also left one massive issue unresolved: Max Branning.
And with Max confirmed to return in the same week Linda steps back into her old life, the stage is set for a confrontation fans have been waiting four years to see…

Monday 15 December: Celebrations for some, spiralling for others
The week opens with excitement for the Beales as Lauren and Peter prepare for Jimmy’s christening. But across the Square, things are far less joyful.
Lily Slater continues to struggle emotionally after choosing to stay in Walford while Stacey and her younger children start over in Brazil. The split has rattled Jean, too, who shows increasingly worrying signs that she isn’t coping with the new family dynamic.
Meanwhile, Elaine Peacock is glowing with pride as she launches her new bed and breakfast, Peacock Palace. But her big moment is eclipsed when Linda suddenly walks in, and whatever she discovers upon her return clearly leaves her shaken.
Tuesday 16 December: Linda finds support in a surprising place
Trying to readjust to her old life and routines, Linda opens up to someone unexpected. Whether this new confidant becomes an ally or a fresh complication remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be Walford if help didn’t come with consequences.
At the Slaters’, Kat Moon gains an unlikely supporter as she tries to help Zoe, whose erratic behaviour has been spiralling for weeks.

And the pressure mounts for Lauren, who turns to Ian after fears grow that her disastrous mistake, handing over £3,000 of charity money to a bogus doctor, may finally be exposed. Jasmine Fisher finds herself facing trouble once again, adding more fuel to an already combustible week.
Wednesday 17 December: Walford shaken by a fire
Midweek, disaster strikes as a fire sends shockwaves through the Square. Residents scramble for answers about who was involved and how it started. With emotions already stretched thin, the community struggles to make sense of the aftermath.
Kat attempts to hold her family together and salvage Christmas plans despite the tension tearing the Slaters apart. Meanwhile, Dr Anthony Trueman raises serious concerns, suggesting deeper cracks beneath the surface.
Friday 19 December: Secrets spill, and futures crumble
The truth finally emerges about Lauren’s deception, leaving Peter stunned. Whether their relationship survives her mistake remains unclear, but the fallout is brutal.

Zoe reaches out to another resident with an offer of help, something almost unthinkable given her battles of recent weeks, while Julie Bates is forced to make a life-altering decision.
