Tineke “Tini” Younger posted a message to her Instagram @tiniyounger on Wednesday, November 26 explaining she had lost one of the two girls she was carrying after suffering a “placenta abruption.”
“This isn’t the post I ever thought I would share once the twins came, unfortunately earlier this week we lost our sweet girl Arya (Baby A),” Younger wrote. “We made it to almost 36 weeks we were so close to being done and getting the girls to term but I had a placenta abruption and we lost our sweet girl.”
Placental abruption occurs when the placenta detaches, either partially or completely, from the uterine wall before child birth. It’s a very serious pregnancy complication that can result in the unborn child being deprived of vital oxygen and nutrients.
The pregnant mother, meanwhile, can suffer severe bleeding and pain. According to the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, placental abruption causes complications in somewhere between 0.5 and 1.2 percent of pregnancies in the U.S.
Younger went on to say in her Instagram post that Arya’s surviving twin sister is “doing really good and breathing on her own.” She added: “They both are so beautiful and Arya will always be celebrated, her sister will know she is a twin and has a beautiful twin sister.”

The TikTok creator posted the heartbreaking news alongside a black-and-white photo of herself and husband Antoine Wright Jr. holding Arya.
She also confirmed she would be stepping away from social media, for the time being. “I will be taking a break, not sure for how long but I promise I will be back. I love you guys,” Younger wrote.
Gordon Ramsay was among those to comment on the post, writing: “Sending all our love.”
Fellow content creator Kimberly Villalobos, meanwhile, commented: “Prayers for you and your family! I am so sorry! Take as much time as you need!” Personal trainer and nutrition specialist MaKayla Kim Thomas wrote: “So sorry Tini so many of us are crying with you and for you tonight.”
Jayla Sims, another content creator, was also among those to pay their respects. “Sorry incredibly sorry for your loss Tini. Praying for your family and for baby b. so much love to you,” she wrote in response.
Jordan Farnum, a fellow contestant on Fox’s Next Level Chef, also offered his condolences, writing: “Im so sorry Tini, sending all of you love God bless your family!!”

The news comes just two weeks after Younger was nominated as Storyteller of the Year at the inaugural U.S. TikTok Creator Awards.
