By Rachael O'ConnorShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberA woman has gone viral for showcasing her local post office's exasperation at customers.
Bianca Jordan, 41, lives in Stoughton, Massachusetts, where she works as a lawyer.
As she told Newsweek: "As a lawyer dealing with federal agencies, I’m always mailing and receiving snail mail."
At a recent trip to the USPS post office to pick up a package, she was standing in line when she noticed a sign taped to the wall. And, "not thinking anything of it," she snapped a photo and posted it to her Threads account.
But the post ended up having a big reaction, with more than 2,500 likes just a day after she shared it to her account @brazenlawyer on November 25.
Jordan wrote: "My post office is so sick of y'all, they forgot to add a d," she laughed in the caption, as the sign started with the phrase: "How to Adress a Letter!!"
The sign explained to people, step by step, where to put the stamp, where to put the sender's address, and where to put the recipient's address, as well as reminding them to put a name, town, state and Zip code.

Dozens of commenters shared their thoughts under the post, one calling it "just sad," and another saying it showcased why it was important to "back the basics."
"Do they not teach this in school anymore?" another asked, with one complaining: "What exactly is taught in schools these days? Doesn't seem like any sort of life skills or practical information."
Others thought the post office's explanation itself was confusing, one pointing out that it should have been written on "landscape" paper, or even an envelope, and another admitting, "I think I broke my brain trying to follow this."
Jordan told Newsweek she was "not expecting this many people to care about the picture I took at my post office, but I’m glad people enjoyed it."
She added: "I still send holiday cards and 'I was just thinking about you' cards to people, so I obviously know how to address a letter.
"But a lot of the things we grew up doing in the '80s and '90s are going away the more technology changes, so there is definitely a generational divide when it comes to knowing how to address a letter."
...In 2021, a survey by CBS News conducted by YouGov found that 37 percent of respondents had not written and sent a personal letter in more than five years, while 15 percent had never done so.
And while older generations may be more likely to have the skills to write and address letters, the same survey found that only half of respondents aged 65 and older had written a letter in the previous five years.
