The song from the New York indie rock band was briefly heard during NBC‘s livestream of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade yesterday morning (Thursday November 27).

During their coverage of the event, the song played as a float shaped like a dog, advertising a dog food brand, made its way through the city.

It comes as somewhat of a surprise as the band are still on an indie label, but have been getting huge momentum in recent months, particularly with the widespread praise for their latest album ‘Getting Killed’.

“Yeah, they’ve really made it,” one fan page wrote, while others took to X/Twitter to share their disbelief. “They played Geese for a minute at the Macys Parade and I stood up off of my parents couch like I was getting Winter Soldier activated,” another fan shared.Check out the clip below, alongside some fan reactions.

Other songs played at the event included a snippet of PinkPantheress’ ‘Illegal’, which soundtracked the first Labubu float, and appearances at the parade included performances from Lil Jon, Conan Gray, Cynthia Erivo, Busta Rhymes, The Pretty Reckless and more.

‘Getting Killed’, which was given a five-star review from NME and described as “not so much proving they deserve all the accolades and fervent fanaticism bubbling around them, but demanding it”.

Praise for that album also came from Nick Cave, who last week hailed it as music that makes him feel “happy”, and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan joked that the members should fight the band Goose.

The band will tour the UK next year, and have added extra concerts in Glasgow and London due to high demand. Get any remaining tickets to upcoming shows here.
