Simon Cowell has revealed the wellness procedure he undergoes that he claims mean he has “aged backwards.”

The music mogul, famous for his appearances on The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, has claimed that in addition to diet and exercise changes, he has his blood filtered in order to feel younger at the age of 66.

Speaking to The Sun (via The Independent), he explained: “I go to this place, this wellness clinic, where they actually take your blood, they rinse it, they filter it and then they put it back into your body.”

He continued: “You do all these tests, and they tell you your age, so I’ve actually aged backwards by eating better, more exercise, less stress, and certain supplements. My brain is still there, I still have the energy.”

The music executive has made headlines in recent years regarding his cosmetic surgeries, to the extend that he joked about it on an episode of Britain’s Got Talent.

Having discovered acts such as Leona Lewis, Little Mix, and Fifth Harmony through his reality shows, Cowell will launch a new search on December 10 with the Netflix show Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which sees him search for his next boyband.

Earlier this month, he opened up about the death of Liam Payne, the One Direction member whom he discovered in 2010’s edition of The X Factor. He told Rolling Stone: “When I heard the news, it really hit me. I saw him a year before this happened. He came over to my house. We talked about his son and being a dad.”

“I remember saying, ‘Music is not everything. Don’t let it run your life anymore. Find something else that you are passionate about.’ You ask yourself that question: ‘Could I have done anything more?’”

In March, Elton John criticised talent shows such as The X Factor’ and American Idol, saying that they are “just the worst” for new artists.
