The iconic WarGames Matches are returning for the fourth consecutive year, and World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is preparing to step back inside the double cage for the second time in his career.
The Men's WarGames Match is expected to main event, but CM Punk recently stated that if the decision were up to him, he would go in a different direction. CM Punk's team for the Men's WarGames Match is an insanely stacked list of participants.
The World Heavyweight Champion will team with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso). They will battle a team composed of Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul. Speaking to Kay Adams Wednesday morning on Up & Adams, CM Punk threw his support behind the Women’s WarGames Match to close the show.
“I think the women should be the main event, selfishly. I do think us guys will main event. There are two titles involved there, though they are not on the line. Star power is off the charts, but I also think the star power is off the charts when it comes to the women”.

CM Punk did admit that his bias comes from the fact that his wife, AJ Lee, is a competitor in the Women’s WarGames Match. He stood by his choice, however, considering the caliber of all the other women who will be locked inside the cage. The Women’s WarGames Match pits AJ Lee, IYO SKY, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Rhea Ripley against Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane (The Kabuki Warriors), Nia Jax, and Lash Legend. CM Punk praised the heroic team, calling them an "All-Star dream team".

IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, just a huge All-Star blue-eyed babyface dream team. I can’t wait to see all those girls”.
The match on Saturday, November 29, at San Diego's Petco Park will mark AJ Lee’s WarGames debut. It will also be the first cage match of any kind in her wrestling career. Her teammates, however, have plenty of experience to lean on.
IYO SKY has competed in more modern-day WarGames matches than anyone in WWE, with Saturday marking her seventh time wrestling in the match. Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss are also veterans of the contest, and each member will bring a different dynamic to the equation. Punk found a unique analogy for the structure of the women's team, comparing the group to the 1980s film The Breakfast Club.
“It’s almost like the Breakfast Club. They have their bender, their princess, their nerd, their jock, and their crazy goth. There is something about that team”.
In addition to the two WarGames matches, two championship matches are scheduled for 'Survivor Series'. John Cena will defend his Men's Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio, a match that will be the second to last of Cena's career. Stephanie Vaquer will also defend her Women's World Championship against Nikki Bella.
