By Evan MasseyShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Dallas Cowboys were able to take care of business once again, this time defeating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day. It was a huge win just under a week after knocking off the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.
In back-to-back games, the Cowboys have defeated the last two Super Bowl winners.
Against the Chiefs, Dallas once again had a top-tier passing game. Dak Prescott threw for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and an interceptions, while CeeDee Lamb caught seven passes for 112 yards and a score and Goerge Pickens racked up six receptions for 88 yards.

Pickens has been a massive addition for the Cowboys all season long. After being acquired in an offseason trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, all eyes have been on Dallas being able to re-sign him long-term. He has proven that he deserves a lucrative long-term contract so far this season.
...Following the big-time win over Kansas City, Pickens spoke out with a very strong message. In the process, he also sent a blunt warning to the rest of the NFL. Pickens believes that the Cowboys could be Super Bowl contenders.
“We beat the past two Super Bowl winners. I feel like we still got that same type of caliber," Pickens said. "As long as we just execute, put one foot forward each day, I feel like we got that same caliber.”
He was asked more pointedly about Dallas being a playoff contender. Pickens made it clear that he believes the team has that ability even after a slow start to the year.
“All we can do is just execute. But I feel like we definitely got that caliber of guys," he said.
So far this season in his first year with the Cowboys, the 24-year-old wide receiver has played in 12 games. He has caught 73 passes for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns. All of those numbers are a career best.

Next up for Dallas will be a tough matchup on the road against the Detroit Lions. Of course, the Lions dropped to 7-5 on the season with a loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving.
Both teams will badly need a win as they look to stay alive in the chase for the playoffs. For the Cowboys, it appears to be the toughest game left on their regular season schedule.
