By Evan MasseyShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Alabama Crimson Tide are looking like a pretty good bet to get into the College Football Playoff this season. Led by Ty Simpson, the team currently holds a 9-2 record with just one game remaining in the regular season.
Of course, that game happens to be a major rivalry matchup against the Auburn Tigers. This year, Alabama will have to go on the road to take-home a win in the Iron Bowl.
Simpson has played very well this season. His numbers put him in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy. However, the ultimate goal for the young signal caller is winning a national championship.

Right before taking on Auburn this Saturday, Simpson has received some major career news off of the field.
...In a post on Instagram, Simpson announced that he has partnered with Regions Bank on an NIL deal.
“Nothing beats the power of community,” Simpson wrote to caption the post.
At the beginning of the 2025 college football season, Simpson was far from being a household name. Now, he is well-known around the country and is starting to make some noise as a potential early pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Throughout the course of the year, the Crimson Tide quarterback has completed 66.9 percent of his pass attemps for 2,934 yards, 22 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He has also picked up 95 yards and scored two more touchdowns on the ground.
It has been a wild all-around season for Alabama. After losing to the Florida State Seminoles in the season opener, the team rattled off eight straight wins. That winning streak included victories over No. 5 Georgia, No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 14 Missouri, and No. 11 Tennessee.

Unfortunately, the Crimson Tide came up short against the No. 11 ranked Oklahoma Sooners two weeks ago before rebounding with a 56-0 win over Eastern Illinois last week.
Now, the stage has been set for Alabama to take on Auburn with a chance to punch a ticket into the SEC championship game. A win over the Tigers could also make them a near lock to get into the playoff.
Only time will tell, but Simpson has been making big moves on the football field this season. Before the showdown against Auburn, he was also able to make another big move off of it.
