Ohio State is hoping to avoid a fifth-straight loss to its bitter rival when the Buckeyes travel to the Big House for a battle against the Michigan Wolverines.
Despite being a heavy favorite in 2024, Ohio State lost in a defensive 13-10 showdown against Michigan last season before going on to win the national title. As The Game looms on Saturday, head coach Ryan Day was asked if he learned a lesson from the close loss.
“Every season is different, every game is different. You use your past experiences to do everything you can to put your team in a position to be successful, that’s reallt what it comes down to," he said. “Every year you learn, you grow, this is a different team, this is a different opponent in terms of their personnel, so we are going to do everything we can to win this game and focus on that.”

As the game draws near, Day revealed the Buckeyes made an unusual change before facing off against The Team Up North. In a meeting with reporters this week, Day revealed the team will be flying to Michigan instead of its usual mode of transportation when facing the Wolverines: the bus.
Day explained he wanted to stick to the routine of flying to road games.

With a win on Saturday, Ohio State would remain the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff race and punch its ticket to the Big Ten title game. Michigan, meanwhile, has the opportunity to embarrass its out of state rival once again as the higher-ranked team pulling the upset.
