By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Washington Commanders have been dealing with significant injuries to two of their most important players, quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Ahead of their Week 13 matchup, head coach Dan Quinn has made the final call on whether either will play.

Daniels suffered a brutal injury in Week 9, as he fell on his elbow and suffered a dislocation. This led to him being sidelined for the past two games. Even through the significant injury, he has surprisingly been close to returning to play.
McLaurin suffered a quad injury that kept him out for four games early in the season. He would then re-aggravate that same injury, leading to him missing the past three games.
Now, Quinn has revealed whether either will play in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos.

Per multiple reports, Quinn has ruled out Daniels, but he has said that McLaurin will play. Marcus Mariota will assume starting duties again for the Commanders.
...Though Daniels was ruled out, Quinn also revealed that he has been making some huge progress coming back from his elbow dislocation. Though he is ruled out for Week 13, there is a good chance he can come back for Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Daniels has had a rough 2025 season due to multiple injuries. A sprained knee sidelined him early on, which was then followed by a hamstring ailment that pulled him from one game. Now, he has had an elbow dislocation injury.
The Commanders have gone 3-8 on the season, which is a far cry from their 12-5 record and NFC Championship appearance in 2024. Their chances to make the postseason might all be done, especially if they cannot win against the Vikings.
At least Mariota will have McLaurin back on the field to get the ball to.
