What a cat did while his owner was away on holiday has left the internet in stitches.

Toby, a black and white tuxedo cat, managed to sneak a female tabby cat through his cat flap, the video shared by Rhi (@heyitsrhi_) 44,400 views and 4,627 likes on TikTok.

"When Tobes got busted sneaking his girlfriend in the microchip cat flap while we were on holiday" she wrote as the text overlaying the footage of the cats.

"BUSTED! Look at him pretending he has no idea how or why she’s there. God knows how we got her in," she captioned the post.

The video shows both cats perched on the stairs while Rhi tries to gently shoo the uninvited visitor back outside.

How Microchip Cat Flaps Work

Microchip cat flaps are designed to allow entry only to pets whose microchip number has been programmed into the device. When the cat approaches, the flap scans the microchip and unlocks automatically, preventing unwanted animals from sneaking inside. While highly effective, determined cats can sometimes still find ways around them—often with a little "help" from a friend, as Toby clearly demonstrated.

Signs Cats Actually Like Each Other

According to Cats Protection, there are several telltale behaviors that show when two cats genuinely get along. These include grooming each other, sleeping touching or curled up together, greeting with nose bumps, playing without aggression, and spending time in close proximity by choice. While Toby and his unexpected guest didn’t display all these signs on camera, their comfortable behavior in each other's presence suggests they might be on friendly, if mischievous, terms.

TikTokers were quick to flood the comments with jokes and theories about the feline rendezvous.

"My parents aren’t home, wanna come over?" asked Mily.

"The way she just sits and looks at you "what are you doing here "?" shared another viewer.

"The girlfriend is too brave to stay. even after being caught," added another user.

"Shaggys song "wasn't me" comes to mind," said Adam.

One commenter even shared their own similar experience: "My cat Tigger had a cat flap where it could only be opened with his collar and he used to come in first then hold it open for all his friends from the inside he really like to party my dad hated it as they used to wee all downstairs I used to wake up with random cats cuddling me," they wrote.
