...The Texas Longhorns, led by Texas quarterback Arch Manning, upset Texas A&M on Friday in a stunning development within the SEC.
Texas came in as a home underdog against the Aggies, though at the end of the night, the Longhorns defended their home turf and secured a 27-17 victory, beating the No. 3 team in the nation.

The result did not have major College Football Playoff implications, as A&M has already clinched a spot and Texas is a long shot to get in, even with a victory.
However, Texas A&M's SEC Championship hopes were in the balance, and they are now eliminated from heading to Georgia for the title game. The Georgia Bulldogs secured a spot with the Aggies' loss, but the last place is still up for grabs.
...Alabama needs to beat Auburn, and they will face Georgia. If not, the Ole Miss Rebels will be headed to the championship game.
More news: LSU Could Be Forced Into Unexpected Hire if Lane Kiffin Goes Elsewhere
Ole Miss, which beat its rivals — Mississippi State — on Friday, is currently the center of attention in the college football world.
The LSU Tigers are courting head coach Lane Kiffin to become the program's next coach, offering a massive salary and NIL deals to sway him.
The Rebels responded to the courtship by offering their coach a contract extension and further investment in the program.
The school secured its playoff debut with its win on the road, though Ole Miss has already handed Kiffin a deadline — Saturday, Nov. 29 — the day after their final regular-season game.
As his decision approaches, the potential for an SEC Championship game could add another wrinkle to the equation, enticing the coach to stay and see out his rebuild at Ole Miss.
Ole Miss could also have a decision on its hands if Kiffin leaves and they reach the SEC title game. It may be too quick a turnaround for a new staff member to take on the head coach role.
Kiffin has already taken his time on the LSU job, and Ole Miss's patience is likely wearing thin among players and staff. However, clarity should be coming soon, even sooner if Alabama takes care of business in the Iron Bowl on Saturday.
