This Morning star,Alice Liveing, was sent to the hospital after experiencing ‘unusual bleeding’ following the birth of her baby daughter.

The 32-year-old health and wellbeing presenter welcomed her newborn with husband Patrick Murphy last month in the ‘most unexpected way’ and described the experience as ‘wild’ with a tale she will followers for another day.

The ITV star has been open and honest about her post-partum journey on social media, and opened up about a surprising health scare after she noticed out-of-the-ordinary bleeding and visited her GP.

In an Instagram story, she wrote: ‘Not the news I wanted today, but want to share in case it’s helpful or makes anyone else get their’s checked.

‘I had some unusual post-birth bleeding over the last week or so and saw my GP for a scan. Turns out I have some ‘retained products’ and am now waiting for the plan of action to deal with this.

‘It’s these ‘little things’ you always try and write off as being normal post having a baby that it can be worth getting checked.

‘I’m sadly outside of the 28-day window to receive triage care from the hospital hence needing to go down the GP route but I’m glad I did and will keep you posted with next steps for anyone who might be experiencing similar.’

As she offered more information for new mothers to look out for, she described her own bleeding as ‘bright, bright red with large clots (sorry TMI) from around 25 days post birth’.

Despite the unexpected development, she is ready to get back into the groove of working as an influencer with 675k followers.

What does the NHS say about postpartum bleeding?

According to the NHS website, it is normal to bleed ‘quite heavily’ from the vagina after birth.

The website continues: ‘The bleeding will carry on for a few weeks. It will gradually turn a brownish colour and decrease until it finally stops.

‘If you’re losing blood in large clots, tell your midwife. You may need some treatment.’

Elsewhere on her social media, she has been candid about her struggle adjusting to caring for a whole new tiny person.

‘Like I had such, such good intentions of being like “I’m going to go for a walk every morning, get outside, get daylight” and honestly it is just so much harder,’ she wrote in one post.
