With arguably the best rivalry in college football taking center stage, Ohio State fans are left wondering if star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate will take the field against Michigan.

Both wide receivers missed the Buckeyes' 42-9 rout of Rutgers over the weekend. Head coach Ryan Day listed both players as "day-to-day" following the win over the Scarlet Knights and suggested they were heading in the right direction for The Game.

"They're going to continue to get some rest tonight, had a good day of rehab. So we’ll wake up in the morning and see how they're doing, but nobody wants to play more than those two guys," Day said at the time.

Smith, who leads the Buckeyes in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, made a podcast appearance earlier this week where he suggested he'd be playing. "I'm feeling good. You know, dealing with a little situation injury wise, but I should be good to go Saturday," Smith said definitively.

On Saturday morning, just hours before the rivalry game, ESPN's Pete Thamel revealed both wide receivers are expected to play against Michigan this afternoon. "Ohio State star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are expected to play against Michigan on Saturday. Smith missed one game and Tate has missed three games. Both have lower body injuries," he said.
