Smart plugs are becoming increasingly popular in UK homes, and thanks to Black Friday, they're now more affordable than ever. That is especially true of the Tapo P110 (2-Pack) Smart Plugs, which are on sale at Amazon for £14.29 (was £23.99).

The Tapo P110 can be controlled using a handy and free app, which makes it possible to control the devices it's powering. This could include the best smart speakers, the best smart displays, or even your Christmas tree lights.

Tapo is a trusted brand that creates smart devices for smart living. We've not reviewed the P110, but did give the TP-Link Tapo P125M Mini Smart Wi-Fi Plug a full and impressive five stars.

These super-cheap smart plugs are nearly half price. That's impressive considering how cheap they already were. Control them and attached devices with your phone while also monitoring energy usage. Helpfully, they can also be voice controlled through Alexa and Google.

With energy prices continuing to increase, smart plugs like these are a fantastic solution for monitoring energy usage, helping to ensure your bills don't become unmanageable. All you need is the free Tapo app, which monitors the average power consumption of the load for one hour and reports the results directly to you.

I also love the schedule/timer functionality, which lets you automatically power electronics on and off as needed. They are also fully compatible with Alexa and Google, so you and your family members can take control of them in a super accessible way.

A couple of words of caution from the manufacturer. The first is that you should avoid plugging in appliances with a motor/compressor higher than 1/6HP, such as an air conditioner. The plugs also don't support EV charging.
