Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was expected to announce his decision on whether he'll become the head coach of the LSU Tigers or stays with the Ole Miss Rebels.
Kiffin has been courted by a plethora of teams, including LSU and the Florida Gators, but college football insiders say that Kiffin is now deciding between just Ole Miss and LSU.
After Friday's Egg Bowl win over Mississippi State, Kiffin said he would officially announce his decision on whether he'll stay or go after having some conversations with Nick Saban and others.
So, Kiffin was the hot topic on Saturday morning. During "Big Noon Kickoff" on Fox Sports, Joel Klatt said that he absolutely believes Kiffin can win a title with Ole Miss and that he hopes he stays.
"This notion that he has to go to LSU in order to win the national title, I think, is false,” Klatt said on the program. “And in modern college football, you can build a winner basically anywhere. He’s proving it at Ole Miss. Indiana is proving it with Curt Cignetti.

“So, coach, you want to win a national championship? Then look in the mirror because it’s right in front of you right now at Ole Miss.”
Following the Texas upset over Texas A&M on Friday, Ole Miss can make it to the SEC title game if Alabama losses on Saturday. So, if Kiffin leaves, he likely won't be allowed to coach in that SEC Championship Game, and that's where Klatt's comment about playing for a national title makes sense.
..."The calendar is certainly an issue," Klatt admitted. "There’s no doubt about that, and it’s broken and it needs to be fixed, and we understand that. But that’s not an excuse. And guys like Dan Lanning and Mike Elko and Rhett Lashlee and Curt Cignetti, they have not used the calendar as an excuse to stay in their places in the middle of a playoff run."
Klatt wrapped up his commentary by saying the Kiffin can do "wherever he wants," but that "your currency as a coach is your credibility in front of your team and in recruiting. And I just wonder, moving forward, in front of his team, asking them for commitment and buy in, will he have the credibility if he makes this move?"
