The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to be in the running for the top free agent available this offseason.

The Blue Jays nearly won it all this season, falling just short to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, and after coming so close to winning, you would expect the team to be active this offseason. Toronto already pulled off a major move, coming to terms with free agent Dylan Cease on a seven-year, $210 million contract, as reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan, but it should still be in the running for other top free agents.

While one of the Blue Jays' top priorities will likely be retaining star shortstop Bo Bichette this offseason, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand believes the team is a "perfect fit" to sign Chicago Cubs superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker.

...

"Toronto has already made the biggest splash of the offseason by agreeing to a seven-year deal with Dylan Cease, so why stop there?" Feinsand wrote Sunday. "Tucker is the consensus No. 1 free agent on the market and would make a dangerous lineup even better. Just imagine the nightmare pitchers would face with Tucker and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hitting back-to-back for the next decade."

After spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Houston Astros, Tucker was traded to the Cubs in a blockbuster deal last offseason. The 28-year-old star will test free agency after just one season with the Cubs, and is expected to sign a contract worth upwards of $300 million.

Tucker is a four-time All-Star and former World Series champion. He slashed .266/.377/.464 with the Cubs last season, mashing 22 home runs and driving in 73 runs. In addition to what he brings to the lineup, Tucker is a solid defender who's won a Gold Glove in the outfield.

Signing Tucker would set the Blue Jays up to have one of the most dominant lineups in baseball for years to come.
