A woman who works as a dog groomer decided to give her own pup a touch-up—and then realized she has the "free will" to give her a unique cut.

Emily Tunstall owns dog-grooming service The Canine Cabin in Staffordshire, United Kingdom, and regularly shares before-and-after clips of her clients to her TikTok account, @emilytunstall96. While these videos usually end with the canine looking the same, but now preened and shiny, her most-recent video has proven a major hit as she showed off what she did to her own pet.

In a clip posted on November 20 and viewed close to 20,000 times, Tunstall first showed her cockapoo dog, Mabel, who is a mix of a miniature or toy poodle and cocker spaniel, waiting to be groomed.

Tunstall wrote over the clip—"When you remember you have free will to poodle your doodle"—and the video then changed to show Mabel after her pampering, where she sported an iconic poodle look.

Tunstall had clipped and blown out Mabel's fur in such a way that she resembled a classic poodle: fluffy fur on her head and ears, and puffed out all along her body.

"I am actually OBSESSED," Tunstall wrote in the caption. "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

TikTok users loved it, as one poodle owner commented: "I don't even poodle my poodle!"

Another shared they had the same cut done on their doodle "and have never looked back!! Our waffle dog now looks like he owns a Mercedes and judges me."

A third posted that Mabel "looks like a different dog," while others described the cut as "stunning," "adorable" and "so cute."

And one cockapoo owner wrote that their own dog has more of a spaniel coat than poodle, so the cut wouldn't work on their pet.

...

Doodles, which are poodles mixed with another breed, are not recognized by the American Kennel Club, but are proving incredibly popular as pets.

Cockapoos are described by pet-food manufacturer Purina as having a friendly and happy nature, but may require extra training, regular grooming, and plenty of exercise, making them more suitable for experienced owners.
