By Andrew RavensShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberMany fans expected AJ Lee and Becky Lynch to continue their rivalry on the December 1 episode of "Raw," but the former Divas Champion was nowhere to be seen. According to a report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, this absence is not a sign of deviation from their storyline, but rather stems from the specific nature of her contract.
Speaking on Fighful’s post-show review, Sapp confirmed that Lee will continue to "pop in and out" of programming, noting that there was never a deal between both parties for a full-time comeback.
"So AJ Lee will come and go. When I saw people posting right after her return saying, ‘Oh, she’s back and it’s full time,’ I was like, ‘Hold on, partner, before we giddy up here.’ That’s not what I was hearing," Sapp said.

The report clarified that Lee's current run does not resemble the active schedules of her peers. Sapp noted that she appeared for the specific build to the premium live event and has now stepped away again.
"As you can see, there hasn’t been anything close to a full-time return yet. She showed up for a couple of weeks, did the WarGames build, and now she’s gone again," Sapp said.
...Lee participated in her first WarGames match at "Survivor Series," teaming with Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss to defeat a team led by Lynch. The match lasted more than 30 minutes and featured a chaotic finish where Sky jumped from the top of the cage with a trash can over her head to incapacitate the field.
In the closing moments, Lee applied her Black Widow submission on Lynch to secure the victory for her team. Following the match, Lee shared an Instagram post comparing her victorious squad to The Avengers.
With Lee absent from "Raw," the focus on the red brand has shifted toward the "Last Time is Now" tournament, which saw Gunther and LA Knight advance to the finals on the December 1 broadcast. The winner of that tournament is set to face John Cena in his final match at "Saturday Night’s Main Event" on December 13.
