In a heartwarming clip, shared on TikTok on Thursday under the username @carterthegolden, the poster’s pup, Carter, can be seen sitting right outside the living-room window, looking inside at his owner as he gets on with the call. "I was on a work video call so had to shut our dog out and then I saw this…" reads layover text in the clip.
All canines love their owners more than anything else in the world (except food), but some breeds are just naturally clingier than others, and golden retrievers are among them.
Also known as "Velcro dogs," clingy pups are those canines who constantly seek their owners’ companionship and affection, always trying to be as close to them as physically possible.
...Among the clingiest dogs are Labrador retrievers, a friendly and affectionate breed, known for being people-oriented. The same goes for Cavalier King Charles spaniels, who are known for their gentle and loving nature.
Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are also very loyal companions who are able to form deep bonds with their owners and can be among the clingiest breeds.
As shown in the clip, golden retrievers, known for being among the most caring and gentle pups, are incredibly devoted to their families, and would do anything to spend time with their owners.
Among other Velcro breeds are dachshunds. While independent at times, these pups can be deeply attached to their owners too and very much enjoy being close to them.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 8,300 views and 600 likes on the platform.
One user, EllaEmsy, commented: "Oh Carter, that face. Does he join in or just sit at your feet? I have a cat who always sits next to my laptop but when bored will walk across the keyboard."
User5102915729189 posted: "Awwww Carter loves you so very much."
Jessie wrote: "He was missing you lol [laugh out loud]."
