SMU returns from a bye week as one of four ACC teams with a single loss in conference play, coming in with a 5-1 record. Georgia Tech and Virginia are both 6-1, while Pitt is 5-1. The Mustangs won their second straight game on Nov. 8, rolling to a 45-13 victory at Boston College. Kevin Jennings leads the offense with 2,810 passing yards with 21 touchdowns against nine interceptions. Jordan Hudson (42 catches, 595 yards), Romello Brinson (40 receptions, 582 yards), and Yamir Knight (37 grabs, 460 yards) provide multiple targets for Jennings, while TJ Harden has 613 rushing yards and six scores. On defense, Isaiah Smith had 7.5 sacks, to go with the 5.5 from Terry Webb and five each by Cameron Robertson and Jeffrey M’ba. Ahmaad Moses paces the team with five interceptions.
Louisville lost its second in a row to fall to 4-3 in ACC play when Clemson scored a touchdown in the middle of the fourth quarter and held on for a 20-19 win on Nov. 14. Keyjuan Brown ran for 135 yards on 15 carries but is listed as out for Saturday. Miller Moss, questionable for the SMU game, was 19-of-276 for 212 yards and scored a rushing touchdown, and wide receiver Caullin Lacy threw a TD pass to Nate Kurisky.
The Mustangs have never lost to Louisville in three meetings, including a 34-27 road win on Oct. 5, 2024, in their first meeting as ACC foes.
