The New York Knicks missed Jalen Brunson for a small stretch.
Similar to late last season, Brunson battled an ankle-related setback, which took him off the floor. Fortunately, this time around, the Knicks’ superstar didn’t miss too much action.
After returning earlier this week, Brunson is set to take the court once again on Saturday night as the Knicks face the Orlando Magic.
When the Knicks released their injury report on Friday night, Brunson was listed as probable. It was a positive sign that his ankle responded well to game action, and he didn’t deal with any setbacks.
...Knicks Make the Final Call on Brunson’s Status vs. Orlando
When the Knicks and the Magic battle it out on Saturday night in Orlando, Brunson will be back in action, the team confirmed.
Back on November 12, Brunson suffered his setback in a game against Orlando. He managed to play nearly 37 minutes before heading back to the locker room with a limp. Late in the fourth quarter, Brunson had shot 10-23 from the field, scoring 31 points. He also had six assists and three rebounds.
The Knicks fired up a two-game stretch against the Miami Heat. Brunson missed both games, watching his team split the games with Miami. When the Knicks traveled to Dallas for a November 19 meeting with Brunson’s old team, New York defeated the Mavericks 113-111.
Brunson didn’t face any restrictions in the matchup. He checked in for nearly 35 minutes and shot 11-23 from the field. The star guard produced 28 points, dishing out five assists, and grabbing three boards.
The Knicks are looking to pick up their 10th win on Saturday night. The Magic are in the same boat. The two teams will tip off at 5 PM ET down in Florida. Brunson is set for his 13th game this season. This year, he’s posting averages of 28.0 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds.
