As of January 1, 2026, T-Mobile will no longer be offering customers free Apple TV+ subscriptions as part of its perks, according to a recent announcement.
The carrier—a subsidiary of the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom in the U.S. and other countries—said that its “Apple TV On Us” promotion, introduced in 2022 for high-tier plans, will be discontinued starting next year.
Why It Matters
T-Mobile is one the largest carriers in the country. The company ended the third quarter of 2025 with nearly 140 million customers in the U.S. across its postpaid, prepaid and wholesale markets, according to earnings data shared by T-Mobile.
Many of their customers in the U.S. are expected to be impacted by the company’s decision to end its free Apple TV+ subscriptions, which normally cost $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
What To Know
T-Mobile’s decision to end its yearslong promotion comes after Apple’s streaming platform raised its subscription price from $9.99 per month to $12.99 per month in August.
Customers paying for Apple TV+ through T-Mobile will automatically see their bill reflect the new $12.99 per month rate starting January 1, 2026.
Those on T-Mobile’s Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus, Go5G Next, Magenta MAX, Magenta Plus, and ONE Plus plans will receive a discount worth $9.99 every month, with the carrier essentially transferring to customers only the additional $3 cost imposed by Apple and paying the difference.
...“Plan for your new monthly cost. Beginning January 1, 2026, you’ll pay $3.00 per month after your T-Mobile discount,” the company said on a customer support page.
These customers can continue enjoying T-Mobile “Apple TV On Us” for six months at no cost, but when the trial ends, their subscriptions will automatically renew at $12.99.
The subscription can be removed by customers through their T-Mobile accounts.
T-Mobile customers have been informed of the changes via texts as well as the public announcement made by the carrier.
What Happens Next
T-Mobile customers who want to continue enjoying what Apple TV+ has to offer—including the much-awaited next seasons of popular shows like The Studio, Slow Horses, and Severance—will have to shoulder the entire cost of the subscription by June 2026. If they want to avoid the cost, on the other hand, they should remember to opt out of their subscription to Apple TV+
Their decision to continue subscribing to the streaming platform could make a significant difference to Apple TV+, which earlier this year was reporting as losing more than $1 billion per year while spending $4.5 billion on content annually.
