By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Seattle Seahawks continue to showcase why they will be a tough team to deal with in the NFC. A big reason for this is the massive season that wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is having. Smith-Njigba not only has over 100 yards in Week 12, but he has set unique NFL history against the Tennessee Titans.

Sam Darnold joined the Seahawks in the 2025 offseason, and he began to immediately show chemistry with Smith-Nigba, as the pair linked up for over 100 yards in the team's first two games of the regular season.
The star power of Darnold and Smith-Njigba continued, and the Seahawks receiver became the first receiver in the NFL to go over 1,000 yards on the season, well before it is set to end.
Now, Smith-Njigba has set NFL history in his already impressive performance against the Titans.

At the time of this writing, Smith-Njigba currently has 163 yards and two touchdowns, and has now set his own NFL record. After going over the 75-yard mark in the Titans game, the star receiver is the first player in league history to go over 75 yards in the first 11 games of the regular season.

The way that Smith-Njigba is playing, he may be the receiver who can finally catch the single-season yards record set by Detroit Lions legend Calvin Johnson.
Johnson set the record in 2012, as he secured 1,964 receiving yards as a member of the Lions. Smith-Njigba is at 1,309, but the Week 12 game has not ended just yet.
Seattle is currently battling it out to retain a top position in the NFC and the NFC West. At 7-3, they are a game behind the first-place Los Angeles Rams.
The Seahawks are well ahead of the Titans and are sure to win their Week 12 showdown. Smith-Njigba might stack on even more yards by the game's conclusion.
