The Dallas Cowboys overcame a 21-point deficit to take down a division rival and the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday to improve to 5-5-1 on the season.

"There's going to be moments when you're down a touchdown or maybe two touchdowns and that's not going to be the last time this season," star quarterback Dak Prescott said after the comeback. "When you have a game like this, talking about the belief and the knowing, that's what allows these guys in the locker room to believe we're going to come back or know that we have the team, the brotherhood, the connection to do just that."

While the Cowboys got the win, they were left at a major disadvantage following a controversial play in the first half.

Cowboys special teams ace Ryan Flournoy was penalized 15 yards for hitting Eagles punter Braden Mann's plant leg, but video evidence later showed he got a piece of the ball, which should have negated the penalty. After the game, NFL Vice President of Instant Replay Mark Butterworth admitted the mistake from the league, but blamed the error on Fox for not having a clear instant replay of the ball being tipped.

“When there is a flag thrown for roughing the punter, we clear the play to make sure that the ball wasn’t tipped,” Mark Butterworth, the NFL vice president of instant replay, told Todd Archer of ESPN in a pool report. “We can use replay assist to pick up the flag when we have clear and obvious video evidence that the player that committed the foul touched the ball prior to making contact with the punter."

“Also, more importantly, the defense can always challenge that the ball was tipped prior to contact. Now, what happened was, I think a play or two later, TV showed an enhanced shot, which they can do. We don’t have access to that enhanced shot until they show it. By then, it was too late. If we would have had that shot previously, we would have been able to assist prior to the ball being snapped.”

The Eagles eventually took a 14-0 lead after the penalty before ultimately losing 24-21.
