In terms of massive Lego sets that'll make you go "woah," few can compete with Lego Barad-dur. The Dark Lord Sauron's crib from Lord of the Rings is imposing even when made of several thousand bricks, and it's currently a whole lot less as part of the 2025 Black Friday sale.
The brick-builders of Billund really came out and said "build me a Lego set worthy of Mordor" with this 5,471-piece model, and it's currently down to a record low price at Amazon. Lego Barad-dur is enjoying an impressive reduction of 15%, and that kind of discount on a premium kit rarely happens in my experience. I've been reviewing Lego and covering sales for well over six years now, and this kind of premium kit hitting a record low isn't overly common - it's an event usually saved for sales like this one. Indeed, November is fast becoming the best time to pick up the best Lego sets.

Lego Barad-dur | £399.99 £339.85 at AmazonSave £60 - This is the cheapest price I've ever seen on the Lord of the Rings model, and it very rarely dips below £385ish. Will it drop in cost even more as we approach Black Friday? While it's certainly possible, I doubt it. This is a record low price, and the kit doesn't traditionally go any lower than that in my experience. That's been the trend with other high-end premium sets as well.Buy it if:✅ You want a true showstopper set✅ You adore Lord of the Rings✅ You always found the bad guys more interestingDon't buy it if:❌ You'd rather grab Rivendell or the Shire❌ You don't have much display spacePrice check:💲 Lego | £399.99
View DealAlthough it's still expensive (Black Friday Lego deals or not), I think Barad-dur really works to earn that price tag. It's absolutely bloody massive, yes, but it fills as much of that space as possible with fascinating little details. Flip the façade around and you'll find numerous, reference-filled chambers to explore. The bottom layer is made up of a dungeon and armoury, the second level is a feast hall for the Orcs (luckily, it looks like they've avoided "maggoty bread" this time), Sauron's throne room, and nooks for treasure. Maybe even a ring or two...
This abundance of Easter eggs is what I loved so much about the previous Lord of the Rings set, Lego Rivendell (which you can also get for less at Amazon right now, speaking of which). It means there's plenty to enjoy gawking at long after you've finished the build, and it's one hell of a conversation starter. Particularly because it has a movable Eye of Sauron on the top.

This is just one of many Black Friday offers, though. I've seen discounts on everything from the Lego Deku Tree to the Creeper kit, so it's worth taking a look if you want to build up your collection for less.
