I don't think I'm alone in saying that the Spider-Man 2 Doc Ock train scene is one of the best in any superhero movie, and now there's a Lego set for it. Reader, I have a mighty need.
"Any other bright ideas?" Someone in Lego HQ yelled. "Yeah! A few!" The designers replied, before firing up this delightful Lego set that recreates the Spider-Man 2 scene (which you can get for a record low price of $43.99 at Amazon instead of $55 / £29.99 at Amazon UK rather than £45) in glorious miniature. That means you're getting Tobey Maguire's Spidey perched at the front of a subway car trying to slow it down with his webs, while Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus lurks nearby. It's probably one of the best Lego sets from the Marvel range I've seen recently.

View DealThis is one of those kits that's genuinely great for all ages; it's can be added to a kid's toybox, yes, but it's also ideal for display. Much like the Lego The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron, it's at its best when shown off on a shelf thanks to its dynamic features. Spidey's webbing has pulled bricks from the nearby walls just like in the movie, for example, and there are various handles to hang the other minifigures off as if they're being dragged along at speed.
Speaking of minifigures, you're getting what is arguably one of Lego's best versions of Doc Ock to date (complete with adjustable tentacles), Spider-Man with battle-damaged suit (plus two heads - maskless and masked), Aunt May, and ol' Brushtop himself, J. Jonah Jameson. OK, I appreciate that the latter two aren't actually included in the movie scene. But it's nice to get minifigs for JK Simmons and Rosemary Harris' versions of the characters. In addition, it kinda tickles me. I assume JJJ really wants those pictures of Spider-Man, and Aunt May is just checking to make sure Petey is eating enough. The poor dear's looking a little peaky, after all.
In a fun twist, this subway train can actually work on a Lego railway set. You could theoretically put together three of these kits to make a full NYC Subway train for your Lego City build.
Of course, this is just one of many good Black Friday Lego deals - it's been a surprisingly good year so far in terms of offers. Keep an eye on our guide if you want to build up your collection for less!
