By Marni Rose McFallShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberDocumentary maker Dan Farah believes that President Donald Trump could reveal the existence of aliens.
Why It Matters
Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe intelligent life exists beyond Earth, according to a 2021 study from the Pew Research Center. Meanwhile, some Americans believe that there is proof of UFOs and alien life being concealed from the public by global governments, but this belief is held by a significant minority.

What To Know
The revelation of the existence of aliens would be one of the most significant discoveries in human history.
And it’s one that Farah thinks Trump could reveal. Farah is the director of The Age of Disclosure, and he thinks that the release of his film could prompt Trump to reveal the existence of non-human, intelligent life.
"I think it's only a matter of time before the release of this film is followed by a sitting president stepping to the podium and telling the world, 'We're not alone in the universe,'" he told Entertainment Weekly.
"It's the most significant moment a leader could possibly have," Farah said.
Trump has previously expressed skepticism about the existence of UFOs and told Joe Rogan in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election that he has never been "a believer."
Farah’s documentary features testimony from over 30 U.S. government, military, and intelligence officials. It includes the current Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the former Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper.
The documentary theory poses a theory that there has been a decades-long government cover-up of extraterrestrial intelligence.
The premise of the documentary has largely been rejected and criticized by scientists.
What People Are Saying
The official synopsis of The Age of Disclosure reads that the documentary "An explosive documentary that reveals an 80-year global cover-up of non-human intelligent life, with testimony from 34 U.S. Government insiders."
Documentary maker Dan Farah told Entertainment Weekly: "Something I'm proud of with the film is that it's really not people sharing theories. It's people who have direct knowledge of the topic as a result of working for the U.S. government, sharing what they can lawfully disclose about what they know, and that is what I think separates the film from everything else that's been made on the topic. Every single one of them has classified knowledge that they could never share, but they're breaking their silence on what they lawfully can disclose."
Joe Rogan, a podcaster, in a post on X: "The Age of Disclosure is one of the best documentaries on the whole UFO phenomenon ever. High ranking government officials revealing the truth about what they know about aliens, crashed craft retrieval programs, and back engineering efforts that have been going on for decades. If you’re into the subject, I can’t recommend this enough."
Joshua Semeter, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Boston University’s College of Engineering, in an interview with BU Today: "I have seen no evidence that the government has been hiding anything. And if your response is, "Well, of course you haven’t, that’s because they are hiding it!" then I guess we are at an impasse."
Representative Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, in a post on X about the documentary: "It's very interesting. It's not caricature. It's serious. Well-done."
