When the Las Vegas Raiders hired Pete Carroll, the hope was that he would come in and turn things around in 2025. After a long run of success with the Seattle Seahawks, he had the resume to prove he could turn the organization into a winner.

More Raiders: Raiders Fire Second Coach After Chip Kelly Dismissal

The issue is the Raiders are now 2-9, and have had to fire three coaches in the last two weeks. Special teams coordinator Tom McMahon, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, and senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell have all been relieved of their duties.

Carroll has never had to fire a coordinator in-season, proving just how dire things are with the Raiders. Considering the huge turnover thus far, there are now growing concerns that the head coach himself could be on the proverbial chopping block next.

Top NFL insider Adam Schefter spoke about the issues with the Raiders on "The Pat McAfee Show," revealing that he believes "no one is safe" following Kelly being fired.

"Look, Pete Carroll has never fired a coach midseason in his entire time in Seattle. And now, they fired two different coordinators here in about two plus weeks. They fired their special teams coach and now they fired Chip Kelly last night. I think it's clear nobody seems to be safe right now out there in the coaching staff. I think everything is up in the air. I think the season has not gone the way that a lot of people would have hoped. It's been disappointing in a lot of different ways. You lose to the Browns at home like that, give up 10 sacks, everything is going to be called into question," Schefter said.

The usual case for teams that hire a new head coach is not to fire them after just one season. Carroll is also a proven winner, but the failures thus far might be too hard for the Raiders brass to ignore.

It might also be that Carroll did not fire Kelly sooner than Week 12, which could lead to him being on the outs with the organization at the end of the season.

Either way, the Raiders are a struggling team that may need to shake things up in a bigger way come 2026, and that might include finding a new head coach.
